Diane began printing cards long before she opened Ferdinand, and wholesaling them to shops around the world has been part of her longevity.
Recently Diane acquired a 1955 Heidelberg Windmill. This 3000 lb. printing press was moved into the back of Ferdinand in February 2011. As Diane continues to learn and experiment cards, posters, flyers, gift tags, packaging and popular “one pound of misprints” bags are evolving as tricks are learned. All of Ferdinand’s products are limited edition and rarely remade. They are printed on vintage or recycled paper using biodegradable packaging and recycled inks.
Diane’s current obsession is letterpress printing onto maps and school paper using bright colors. She nerds out hand setting type and innovating alternative printing surfaces.
